Robert “Bobby” Marasco, Des Moines, Iowa, was born on January 22, 1934, to Dominic and Frances Marasco. He attended St. Anthony School and graduated from Dowling High School. After graduation, he worked at General Motors and then ran Jack's Parking for many years. He also managed parking at Principal Financial Group and enjoyed interacting with the employees. After he retired, he worked part-time for his brother-in-law, Sam Fazio, at Fazio Food Brokerage.

Bobby was an avid bowler, softball player, hunter, fisherman and racing fan. He loved to spend time outdoors and take the children in his life to experience the activities he enjoyed.

Bobby was a very generous and empathetic soul. He would stop whatever he was doing to help someone in need. He mowed many lawns and plowed many driveways for friends and neighbors. His summers were spent in the garden, growing lots of peppers and tomatoes.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Donna Marasco; his parents; siblings, Tish Fazio, Vergida Vonk, Peter Marasco, and Ned Marasco and granddaughter, Stella Marasco. He is survived by his daughter, Jody (Shaun) McVey and his son, Nick (Lynn) Marasco. He is also survived by his grandchildren, who meant everything to him: Nicole, Michael and Katie McVey and Jack and Ben Marasco.

Bobby passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026. Visitation and A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10am, followed by the funeral mass at 11am. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.
